The US Embassy and Consulates in India are launching Gamechangers Ultimate Frisbee, a new sports initiative aimed at promoting gender equity and leadership through ultimate frisbee. This program, starting from August 19 to 24 in Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Chennai, and continuing in Mumbai from August 26 to 31, will train 100 female coaches from both urban and rural areas over the course of a year.

The initiative begins with workshops and coaching sessions at schools and sports facilities, focusing on both coaching skills and gender equity. After these initial sessions, coaches will receive ongoing support through virtual training, allowing them to lead ultimate frisbee activities in their communities. This approach is designed to build leadership skills and boost confidence among young women, while also promoting inclusion in this mixed-gender sport.

The program targets a 40% increase in female coaches taking on leadership roles and aims for 30% of participants to actively support gender equality efforts. Additionally, the initiative includes workshops for male allies to foster supportive and inclusive environments for gender equality in sports, both on and off the field.
