In the backdrop of the Governor issuing a show cause notice to the CM based on the request of an RTI activist, the Karnataka state committee of the CPM strongly condemned the fact that an FIR has been allowed to be filed against the CM of a democratically elected government, labelling it an anti-democratic act.
CPM State Secretary K Neela in a statement on Sunday said that this undemocratic development of a Governor giving a show cause notice to the Chief Minister and allowing prosecution on the request of a common citizen has caused concern among all the democratic forces.

The Chief Minister has already given detailed information to the legislature and the Governor directly regarding the MUDA case and has taken steps for a judicial investigation regarding the case, she said and added that the Governor’s act is an abuse of power.
It is visible that the dignitaries who officially represent the state government are acting like leaders of the opposition party and are bowing to the dictates of the BJP coalition government, she said.
