The need for accurate information and awareness through media was emphasized by the District Superintendent of Police. B Nikhil spoke at a dialogue organized by the District Working Journalists’ Association at Journalist Bhawan. The event aimed to inform journalists about the new Indian Penal Code introduced by the Central Government.
A plan to raise awareness about drug issues in schools and colleges was announced. The consequences of drug-related cases will be explained. Primary school children will visit the police station for an open house program to learn about these issues.
Coordination for crimes against women and children was discussed. Actions will be taken after meetings with various departments. Empowering women and senior citizens is a priority.
A new rule of community service for criminal reformation was introduced at BNS, mandated by the court. Eight workshops for district police have been conducted. Discussions with the Deputy Commissioner will address non-journalists using the Press sign.
The President of the District Working Journalists’ Association stated that the Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, and Superintendent of Police are key administrative figures. Knowledge of the Indian Penal Code and a good relationship between journalists and police were emphasized.
