Kalaburagi

Kalaburagi is the land of Kayaka culture. Sharanbasappa Appa and Bande Nawaz are the two eyes of this culture, KV Prabhakar, Media Adviser to the Chief Minister opined.

He spoke at the Press Day organized by the District Journalists’ Association after distributing meritorious awards.

Journalists coming from labour and peasant backgrounds have forgotten to shed light on their backgrounds and the hardships of toiling communities and think that journalism is all about the explosion of corporate wealth.

Journalists are not unquestionable. He called upon the society to question the meanderings, shortcomings and weaknesses of journalists in the same way that journalists question the meanderings of society.

Free bus passes will be distributed to journalists soon. I also discussed health insurance for journalists with Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil. He said that Rs 10 crore   have been kept for this.
