Lokayukta traps two cops for graft

Two police constables from Gol Gumbaz police station were caught red-handed by Lokayukta police while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from accused individuals involved in a riot case. According to Lokayukta police, constables Hanumant Pujari and Jatteppa Biradar had demanded Rs 50,000 to grant station bail to the accused persons. The deal was settled at Rs 40,000, but the accused approached authorities to report the demand. Both constables were apprehended red-handed by a team including Lokayukta Superintendent of Police T Mallesh, DySP Suresh Reddi, inspector Anand Thakkanavar, and AA Doni.
