Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta criticized the government for banning non-curricular activities in government, aided, and unaided schools in Dakshina Kannada. He stated that the ban is seen as a planned attack on local culture and traditions. The district, known for its cultural heritage and festivals, is impacted by this decision.
Chowta claimed that the ban is part of an ongoing anti-Hindu policy by the Congress and Siddaramaiah government. He accused the state government of using the ban to divert attention from its involvement in various corruption scandals. The government is facing difficulties due to these scams, he alleged.
The MP emphasized that Dakshina Kannada, a stronghold of Hindutva, will resist any anti-Hindu policies. He declared that such actions against Hindus will not be tolerated and demanded that the government withdraw the order banning non-curricular activities in school premises. The call for the withdrawal of the ban was reiterated, stressing the need to protect cultural practices in the district. The issue remains a point of contention in the community.
