Kottanoor Police Station achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of an individual involved in the illegal sale of ganja. Acting on confirmed information received on July 16, 2024, from a student at a college within Kottanoor police station limits, officers swiftly conducted an operation.
The suspect was arrested while allegedly selling narcotics near Thanisandra Main Road, close to Haj Bhavan, during nighttime operations. Upon searching him, authorities recovered 2.5 kg of ganja, along with a college bag and a mobile phone, collectively valued at Rs1,00,000/-. The seized items were brought to the police station, and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against him.
