G. Narayanaswamy, President of Siddhartha Charitable Trust, highlighted the critical link between a clean environment and human health during a sampling program held at the Government Senior Primary School in Yaliyur village on Monday. Speaking about the need to protect trees and ensure a green environment, Narayanaswamy lamented the widespread destruction of natural habitats due to indiscriminate tree felling.
Highlighting the importance of clean air for a healthy life, Narayanaswamy called upon individuals to take proactive steps in conserving forest resources. “Everyone should strive to safeguard our dwindling forest wealth by planting beneficial plants even in small spaces at home,” he urged, emphasizing the collective responsibility towards ecological sustainability for future generations.
President KV Swamy echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for environmental awareness among children and the public. He underscored the intrinsic value of trees and the environment, noting that a thriving plant ecosystem contributes to the overall environmental balance, essential for seasonal rain patterns.
Swamy further highlighted that simply planting saplings is not sufficient; sustained efforts in nurturing and maintaining planted trees are crucial for their growth into mature trees. He called upon organizations to actively participate in tree-planting initiatives across schools, colleges, and public spaces to foster a culture of environmental stewardship.
Vice Presidents Muni Krishna, Jagadish, Trimurthy, Treasurer Muniraj, General Secretary Kempanna and others were present.
