A massive protest took place on Thursday at Freedom Park led by the state BJP, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Valmiki Corporation scam case. BJP State President BY Vijayendra and protesters, who proceeded to besiege Vidhana Soudha, were apprehended by the police.

In his address at the protest, Vijayendra highlighted the perceived widespread corruption under the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the state. He asserted that the funds meant for Scheduled Castes and Tribes had been embezzled, leading to discontent among these communities. Vijayendra accused the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of misappropriating community funds and transferring them abroad for electoral purposes.

Vijayendra emphasized that the protest was not merely symbolic and stated that they would continue their struggle until the Chief Minister resigns and the alleged corrupt Congress government is removed from power.

MP Govinda Karajola, also speaking at the protest, criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly misusing Dalit funds for personal gains. He condemned the Congress party for what he described as theatrical displays of concern for Dalits over the years.

Former MLA Rajugowda, former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda, and MLC Chalawadi Narayanaswamy also addressed the gathering, expressing their support for the protest and echoing demands for accountability and resignation over the corruption allegations.
