MP Kota Srinivas Poojary has issued a warning regarding the completion of the Santhekatte underpass construction. In a meeting with district officials, serious concern was expressed over the delays in the underpass’s completion. The ongoing delay is causing inconvenience to the public and has increased the risk of accidents in the area. During a recent site visit with district officials, engineers, and the superintendent of police, assurances were given by contractors and engineers that the work would be completed promptly. However, now there is silence from highway authorities despite the worsening situation, stated Poojary.
NHAI officials have been cautioned to commence work once the intensity of rain decreases, with Poojary emphasizing that any further delays will result in disciplinary action. Following extended discussions, officials expressed confidence in initiating the work once the rain subsides. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vidyakumari, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mamatha Devi, and other officials were present during the meeting.
