Govt making sincere efforts to resolve issues in Survey Dept: Krishna Byre Gowda

Difficulties faced by farmers due to various issues in the Survey Department are being addressed by the government, according to Minister Krishna Byre Gowda. Responding to queries during the Legislative Assembly Question Hour, Gowda acknowledged multiple challenges within the department. He highlighted that complaints related to the Survey Department are regularly raised during Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s public interaction sessions. The government is actively working to resolve these issues.
Updating the Assembly on staffing in the Revenue Department, Minister Krishna Byre Gowda informed that recruitment processes are underway. Plans include hiring 1,000 Village Accountants and 750 Government Surveyors statewide. Additionally, applications have been invited for over 1,000 licensed private surveyors and 35 Assistant Director of Land Records (ADLR) positions. The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has been instructed to ensure fair recruitment within the next 3 to 6 months.
Gowda emphasized that filling vacant positions will strengthen the Survey Department. Proposals for creating new positions have been submitted to the Chief Minister, with readiness from the government to expand further. Modern equipment like rovers will be employed to triple the speed of survey operations. The government remains committed to resolving issues faced by farmers and enhancing the Survey Department’s capabilities.
