Bengaluru’s Vani Vilas Hospital is currently grappling with a surge in dengue cases affecting children, with the number of admissions escalating rapidly. According to hospital authorities, the condition of children admitted due to dengue fever is increasingly critical, necessitating intensive care and specialized treatment.
Sahana, who oversees the paediatrics department at Vani Vilas Hospital, highlighted the severity of cases among children in the advanced stages of the disease. Currently, the hospital is managing children aged 5-12 years who are experiencing complications such as low blood pressure and respiratory issues.
The hospital recorded a sharp rise in cases this month compared to the previous month, underscoring the growing public health concern posed by dengue in Bengaluru.
