Yash Raj Films (YRF) has unveiled the title for its first female-led film in their acclaimed spy universe franchise. The movie, named ‘Alpha,’ features Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as elite agents.

YRF shared the title reveal on Instagram, featuring Alia Bhatt’s voiceover. In the clip, Alia says, Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar Aur humare program ka motto. sabse pehle, sabse tezz, sabse veer. Dhyaan se dekho toh har sheher mein ek jungle hai. Aur jungle mein hamesha Raj karega.

The studio stated, this is a clear take by YRF to highlight a societal misinterpretation that only men can be Alphas.

‘Alpha’ is directed by Shiv Rawail, known for his work on the popular 2023 Netflix series ‘The Railway Men.’ This title marks a significant shift for the action-packed series, previously focused on male leads but with strong female characters.

YRF’s spy universe started with the Tiger franchise, featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, followed by ‘War’ with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. ‘Pathaan,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, was a major hit in 2023, along with ‘Tiger 3.’

Alia Bhatt was last seen in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ and is anticipating the release of ‘Jigra’ and ‘Love and War,’ co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sharvari, who debuted in ‘The Forgotten Army’ (2020), was seen in ‘Munjya’ and Junaid Khan’s ‘Maharaj.’
