Former president and current member of Kannamangala, K.R. Nagesh, highlighted the importance of taking precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases like dengue, primarily transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes breeding in stagnant water.

In Kannamangala village panchayat on Thursday, located in Devanahalli taluk, proactive measures are being implemented under Nagesh’s guidance. Regular disposal of garbage bins, fogging to control mosquito populations, and applying chemicals to drains are among the initiatives aimed at curbing the spread of diseases.

Nagesh highlighted the community’s role in maintaining cleanliness, urging villagers to keep their surroundings clean and prevent water stagnation, which is crucial for a healthy environment.

PDO Srinivas of Kannamangala Gram Panchayat emphasized that mosquitoes breed in stored clean water such as drums and pots, as well as in waste materials like coconut shells and tires. He stressed the importance of monitoring and preventing mosquito breeding sites, noting that mosquitoes typically bite during daylight hours.

Regarding dengue fever, Srinivas advised seeking medical attention immediately upon observing symptoms, as there is no specific medicine or vaccine for the disease. Prompt treatment from a specialist doctor at the nearest government hospital or primary health center is essential.

Kannamangala Gram Panchayat President Gouramma Murthy, along with members Rashmi, Muni Rangaiah, and Krishnaiah were present.
