Key Proposals Pending For Approval By Center Discussed By CM

New Delhi

1. Mekedatu project, designed to provide safe drinking water to Bangalore and surrounding areas, and generate hydroelectric power, pending since 2018. Environmental clearance urgently needed.
2. Upper Bhadra Project, for irrigating 2.25 lakh hectares, awaited since 2020. Despite an allocated budget of Rs. 5,300 crore in 2023-24, no funds have been released.
3. Mahadayi Water Dispute Tribunal Award for the Kalasa Banduri Nala Project was announced in 2018.
4. A proposal of Rs. 15,611 Crores for Phase-III of the Namma Metro Rail Project was submitted in August 2023.
5. The 15th Finance Commission has recommended special grants totaling Rs. 11,495 crore for Karnataka, including funds for the Peripheral Ring Road and lake development.
6. The establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Raichur has been proposed multiple times, awaiting approval from MoHFW.
