Must read

City experienced heavy rainfall across several areas, including Majestic, RR Nagar, Nayandalli, Satellite, Town Hall, and Shantinagar on Friday, leading to significant disruption of daily life and traffic chaos on Mysore Road. After nearly a week without rain, the sudden downpour brought relief but also posed challenges for commuters, forcing many two-wheeler riders to seek shelter under bus stands and flyovers.

Meanwhile, in Madikeri, the incessant rain over the past two days has triggered severe flooding in villages like Bengur, located in Madikeri taluk along the Kaveri River. More than 60 families found themselves cut off between Bengur and Parambu Paysari, necessitating immediate rescue operations by the forest department, which mobilized boats from Dubare.

In Bhagamandal, the Sannaghatta area at the Triveni confluence stands submerged, compounding local woes. At Glass Bridge, authorities have restricted access due to soil erosion, ensuring public safety amidst unpredictable weather patterns.

As monsoon intensifies across Karnataka, including the capital city Bengaluru, authority’s advice residents to stay vigilant and cooperate with emergency services as they respond to the evolving weather conditions.
