In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, a tragic incident unfolded as journalist Shivshankar Jha was fatally stabbed by unknown attackers. The assault occurred late Tuesday night at Pakad Chowk under Maniyari police station while Jha was returning home to Madipur village on his motorcycle. Locals rushed him to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur, where despite efforts, he succumbed to multiple stab wounds and severe blood loss on Wednesday morning.
Animesh Chndra Gyani, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of West Muzaffarpur, reported that two suspects have been detained, and an intensive investigation is ongoing. We have formed a special team to solve this case. CCTV footage is being reviewed for leads, and we are also examining the victim’s call records, Gyani stated.
Preliminary findings suggest that financial dealings may have been a motive behind the attack on the local journalist. Additionally, police are exploring Jha’s possible conflicts with liquor mafias as part of their investigation.
Shivshankar Jha was well-regarded in Muzaffarpur for his journalism, making his tragic death a shock to the community.
