An anonymous bomb threat email targeting Kalaburagi Airport prompted immediate action from security forces, leading to significant delays for passengers. The bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and police were swiftly dispatched to the airport after the threat was received.
Officials conducted an inspection of all areas within the airport and thoroughly checked passengers’ baggage over a two-hour period. Despite the exhaustive search, no explosive devices were found.
Revenue Minister Krishnabhairegowda, who was present at the airport during the incident, confirmed the situation appeared to be a false alarm. These types of calls keep coming, some are just anonymous. The airport staff conducted an inspection. As a result, nothing happened except that I was half an hour behind schedule to meet with the officials. There was no apprehension, he stated.
