Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea in a money laundering case related to an alleged liquor policy scam was reserved for order by Vacation Judge Nyay Bindu of Rouse Avenue Courts on Thursday. This followed the Enforcement Directorate (ED)’s concluding arguments presented by ASG SV Raju.

The court also reserved its decision on Kejriwal’s plea to allow his wife to attend proceedings virtually during his medical board examination. Kejriwal, arrested by the ED on March 21, was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court until June 1, coinciding with the general elections, which he surrendered the next day.

During the hearing, ASG SV Raju highlighted allegations that co-accused Chanpreet Singh facilitated significant cash transactions and paid for hotel stays for Kejriwal. Raju stressed the ED’s possession of concrete evidence supporting their investigation.

Responding, Senior Advocate Vikram Chaudhari, representing Kejriwal, argued that the CM is not named as an accused in the scheduled offence and questioned the credibility of the ED’s allegations, citing witness statements granted pardons. The court’s decision on Kejriwal’s bail plea is awaited amid ongoing legal proceedings.
