Dengue Fever Increase, Medical Officers Request To Take Precautionary Measures

Recently, there has been an increase in dengue fever cases in the district. The district administration and the city corporation are working to control the situation. An awareness campaign, led by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sridhar Dandeppan, is being conducted.

With the rainy season underway, solid wastes such as discarded coconut shells, tires, and broken buckets left around homes can collect water and become breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes. These mosquitoes can spread dengue fever. The public is urged to keep their surroundings clean to prevent water accumulation in solid wastes.

Dr. Dandeppan emphasized that children, the elderly, and pregnant women should wear protective clothing and use mosquito nets during the day and night. He visited many areas, including Krishnanagar, to inform residents about the importance of cleanliness.

In some areas, broken buckets, drums, and tires were found in attics, leading to water accumulation and increased mosquito breeding. Health officials have cleared these items and informed residents about maintaining cleanliness.

Efforts to clear water-logged items have been made. With the rainy season starting, it is important to maintain good health and a clean environment to reduce dengue fever cases.

The city corporation is actively working to prevent dengue. Fogging is being conducted in every ward. Municipal Corporation officials are also working to raise public awareness about health.Residents are requested to maintain cleanliness around their homes and take precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
