The city BJP unit staged a protest condemning the hike in petrol, diesel prices. During the protest, activists led by MLA Abhay Patil pulled scooters with bullocks.
BJP leaders and workers staged a protest at Channamma Circle and expressed their anger against the state government over the fuel price hike. Protesters tied two-wheelers to bullocks and pulled them in a procession condemning the hike and expressed their anger against the state government.
Hundreds of BJP workers shouted slogans against the state government and CM Siddaramaiah.

Abhay Patil and Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi attracted attention by riding on two-wheelers tied to bullocks with rope.
Speaking to media, Kadadi said that after coming to power, the Congress is stealing from people’s pockets. Petrol tax has been increased from 26   to 30 percent, and diesel from 14 to 18.5 percent. Due to this, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 3 and diesel by Rs 3.50.  The state government is demanding the central government to reduce the tax rate on fuels. On November 4, 2021, PM Modi had taken steps to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 10. The Bommai government, which was then in power in the state, also reduced the tax by 7 percent. However, Siddaramaiah government has been increasing the sales tax, he accused.

Now, electricity charge has been increased by 25 percent to 30 percent for small and medium industries. The state government is collecting Rs 1.5 to 3 lakh for transformers from farmers for pumpsets, he added.
Former legislators Anil Benake, Mahadevappa Yadawad, Sanjay Patil, Mahantesh Doddagoudar, former member of council Mahantesh Kavatagimath, district BJP president Subhash Patil, Mahanagar district BJP president Geeta Sutar, leaders MB Zirali and Murughendragouda Patil participated.
