The Mumbai Police have initiated a new case related to the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in April and have arrested an individual from Rajasthan on charges of criminal intimidation, according to an official statement on Sunday.

The arrested person, identified as Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar (25) from Bundi, Rajasthan, allegedly posted a threatening video on his YouTube channel. In the video, he claimed association with Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and their gang members, stating his intention to harm Salman Khan for not apologizing. The video was filmed on a Rajasthan highway and subsequently uploaded.

Given the gravity of the threat, Mumbai Police dispatched a team to Rajasthan, where they apprehended Gujar. The case has been lodged at a cyber-police station in Mumbai, and investigations are ongoing. The police are also looking into Gujar’s criminal history to determine if he has previous offenses. He faces charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 506(2) for criminal intimidation, along with provisions of the Information Technology Act.

In April, two assailants on a motorcycle fired several shots outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. Six individuals were initially arrested in connection with the incident, one of whom, Anuj Thapan, reportedly died by suicide in police custody on May 1. Additionally, Navi Mumbai Police arrested five people, including alleged members of Bishnoi and Brar gangs from Haryana, for plotting an attack on Salman Khan. Investigations revealed that gang members had conducted surveillance on Khan’s properties and shooting locations.
