Increased Fear Of Dengue, Hospital Staff Died Due To Infection

An incident in which a hospital staff succumbed to dengue infection took place on Thursday. Nagaraj (34) of Dialysis Department of Sagar Taluk Sub Divisional Hospital died.
Nagaraj was suffering from fever for the last four days. On Sunday, he was admitted to Sagar sub-division hospital with high fever. During the blood test, dengue infection was confirmed. Two days treatment was also given at Sagar Hospital. Later he was admitted to a private hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment. However, the treatment was ineffective and he died on Thursday.
Dr. Parappa, Head of Sagar Sub-Divisional Hospital, informed that Nagaraj was an outsourced employee in our hospital. He had 51 thousand platelets when he had fever. He was admitted to a private hospital in Shivamogga because he did not respond to treatment here. However, even there the treatment was ineffective and he died. Dr. Parappa said that he also came to know that he had sugar and was not taking his pills properly.
