JK Lt Governor Manoj Sinha expressed determination that those responsible for the Reasi attack would face severe consequences, but emphasized the government’s immediate focus on caring for the injured. Those who committed this cowardly act will have to pay a very heavy price, stated the Lt Governor after visiting the injured pilgrims in the hospital. He assured the victims of full support and assistance during their recovery.
In a social media post, Sinha conveyed solidarity with the families of the deceased pilgrims, affirming the nation’s unwavering support in their time of sorrow. He reiterated to the injured pilgrims that their well-being was paramount, while emphasizing that the perpetrators of the crime would be brought to justice.
The attack, carried out by reportedly two terrorists, targeted a bus transporting pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The assailants opened fire on the bus, resulting in casualties and injuries. Prompt response from police, army, and locals facilitated the rescue operation, with the injured rushed to nearby medical facilities.
Security forces launched a massive manhunt to locate the terrorists, deploying five teams across Poonch and Rajouri districts. Additionally, the National Investigation Agency dispatched a team to assist local authorities, underscoring the seriousness of the situation and the collective effort to address it.
