Newly elected MP V Somanna has attributed his success to JD(S) workers toiling hard for him.
Speaking to media persons, Somanna attributed his success in the Lok Sabha polls to JD(S) leaders and workers saying they all toiled hard for his victory than BJP members. Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy came to campaign four-five times and gave me great strength, he said.
The JD(S) and BJP leaders worked together like two sides of the same coin. The coordination was evident in all 28 constituencies, he added.
He claimed that the coordination between the JD(S) and BJP would continue in Karnataka, and preparations are underway in that direction. He admitted that he had been in a sort of exile for eleven months, with no work despite being a person who always worked. Now, that phase is over, Somanna said.
He said that the people of Tumakuru never considered him an outsider. He ignored the negative comments from a few people. He had expected a lead of two lakh votes but fell short by 20,000, he expressed.
The decision regarding the ministerial position is left to the high command, he said. Somanna mentioned that he would be visiting Delhi soon.
