The silence of INDI alliance leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Arvind Kejriwal, and Mamata Banerjee, regarding a purported objectionable video involving Punjab AAP MLA Balkar Singh and a woman seeking a job was questioned by BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Tuesday. Poonawalla demanded the resignation of the minister and called for a probe into the matter. Allegations were made by BJP leaders that the minister forced the woman to undress during a video call and showed his private parts.
Tajinder Bagga, National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), claimed that the Punjab Cabinet Minister compelled a 21-year-old girl to strip naked over a video call. Additionally, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for sharing a stage with Balkar Singh during a roadshow in Jalandhar. Earlier, the National Commission for Women (NCW) condemned the incident and demanded urgent intervention from the Punjab Police.
NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma issued a notice to DG Punjab Gaurav Yadav, urging a prompt and impartial investigation into the matter. NCW called the reported acts serious violations of a woman’s dignity and emphasized the need for a comprehensive report within three days.
