BMRCL Leads Road Restoration Efforts In Pottery Town

Must read

In response to the collapse of a section of Bore Bank Road in Pottery Town, Bengaluru, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has taken charge of the restoration process. The incident occurred following heavy rainfall, necessitating urgent repairs to ensure the safety and accessibility of the road.

Initially, BMRCL employed a unique restoration method involving a machine brought in from Chennai. However, upon discovering the presence of gas and water pipelines in the area, the corporation shifted back to traditional restoration methods to mitigate potential risks and ensure public safety.

Hega Reddy, Executive Director, Civil, BMRCL, acknowledged the challenges posed by the utilities’ presence, which led to a change in strategy and a slight delay in the restoration timeline. Despite setbacks, BMRCL remains committed to completing the restoration work by the end of June.

Dayanand Shetty, Chief Engineer, Underground-2, BMRCL, emphasized the corporation’s proactive approach in addressing the situation, highlighting the decision to return the imported machine to Chennai due to its incompatibility with the site’s conditions.

Currently, restoration efforts are underway, with a focus on concreting the affected area and ensuring structural integrity. The corporation is closely monitoring weather conditions to mitigate the impact of potential heavy rains on the restoration timeline.
