The upcoming Kannada film “Chilli Chicken” is unique as it brings together talent from various states, which is a notable aspect. The director, Prateek Prajosh, hails from Kerala, while the producer, Deep Bhimajiani, is from Gujarat. The cast includes actors from Manipur, Meghalaya, and Chennai. This is not all; the main backdrop of the film is a Chinese restaurant and the makers say it is a ‘Korean-style’ film to boot. The movie, which has completed shooting and post-production, is now ready for release. Kannada films have been making waves on a pan-India level, and “Chilli Chicken” hopes to make a similar impact.

Under the banner of Metanoia Studios Production, producers Deep Bhimajiani and Sudha Nambiar have collaborated with director Prateek Prajosh to create “Chilli Chicken,” a film based on true events that took place in Bangalore. The teaser for the movie was recently released, generating considerable buzz.

The film’s plot revolves around five young men from North India who come to Bangalore for work. They find employment in a Chinese restaurant and dream of opening their own hotel. However, an unexpected event disrupts their plans, leading to a series of challenges. The narrative explores whether they will overcome these obstacles and succeed.

Producer Deep Bhimajiani shared his excitement about the project, stating, “I have previously produced short films in Hindi. This is our first venture in Kannada, and we plan to release it in June.” Director Prateek Prajosh, who has worked on Hindi films like “Padmaavat” and several Malayalam and Gujarati movies, expressed his enthusiasm for his directorial debut. “I am originally from Kerala and have studied in Bengaluru. The film, based on a real incident in Frazer Town, Bengaluru, is a Korean-style Kannada drama. It tells the story of four North Indians who plan to open a Chinese restaurant in Bengaluru and the challenges they face,” he explained.

Actor B.V. Shrunga, who plays the role of hotel owner Adarsh, commented on the film’s humorous yet sensitive portrayal of cultural integration and the struggles faced by individuals from different states.

“Chilli Chicken” features a prominent cast including B.V. Shrunga, Rini, Nithyashree, Bijou Thangjam, Victor Toudam, Jinpa Bhutia, Tomthin Thokchom, and Hirak Sonaoval, highlighting a truly diverse and multicultural team.
