A group of Nigerian nationals launched a violent assault on officers from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru after the law enforcement unit raided a residence based on a tip-off regarding drug consumption. The harrowing incident, captured on CCTV footage, saw CCB Inspector Subramanya Swamy and five other officers sustain severe injuries as the assailants wielded iron rods, stones, and helmets in their attempt to evade capture.

The incident unfolded in Mavallipura, within the jurisdiction of the Rajanukunte police station. Acting on intelligence regarding drug-related activities at a residence in Mavallipura, CCB officers swiftly moved to conduct a raid on the premises occupied by Nigerian nationals.

Upon reaching the scene, the officers were met with a violent onslaught from the occupants, who wielded rods and helmets in an attempt to repel the raid. Despite the attack, the CCB team managed to call for police backup as the situation escalated.

However, even reinforcements were not spared from the violence, as the Nigerian nationals extended their assault to include the arriving police officers. The assailants went as far as vandalizing a police vehicle, shattering its windows in the process.

In the aftermath of the altercation, the injured CCB personnel were rushed to a private hospital for medical treatment. The incident underscores the dangers faced by law enforcement officials in their efforts to combat illegal activities and uphold public safety.
