The much-anticipated Kannada film “O2,” produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, is slated for release on April 19.
Puneeth Rajkumar, known for backing innovative projects, took up the task of producing “O2” through PRK Productions. Now, the baton has been passed to Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar to take the project forward. The film, produced under the banner of PRK Productions, is ready to hit the screens across the state on April 19. This marks the culmination of the story that Puneeth Rajkumar found appealing.
The film is directed by Prashanth Raj and Raghav Nayak. “The introduction to Puneeth Rajkumar came through Radhakrishna, the director of “Mayabazar.” Upon hearing the storyline of “O2,” both Puneeth Rajkumar and Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar decided to invest in its production. “O2” primarily revolves around medical themes, aiming to portray the journey of a person on the brink of death, who may find a second chance through the drug named “O2”. Lead character Shraddha (played by Ashika Ranganath) faces numerous challenges during the research on the “O2” drug. Additionally, the film promises elements of love, unexpected twists, and entertainment,” Prashanth Raj said. Raghav Nayak, also plays a significant character in the film.
Producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar shared insights into the genesis of the film, stating, “We both (herself and Puneeth Rajkumar) heard the story together. This marks the end of the story that we heard back then.”
Actor Praveen Tej who plays the leading man in the film said, “The film intrigued me, and I found the opportunity to act in Puneeth Rajkumar’s production quite delightful. I portray the role of an AI doctor in this film.”
“I am thrilled to be part of PRK Productions’ film. Alongside the medical aspect, the film also promises romance and unexpected twists,” said Ashika Ranganath. The cast includes Ashika Ranganath, Praveen Tej, Raghav Nayak, Sireesha Ravikumar, Prakash Belawadi, and Puneeth Ba.
