Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, stated during a BJP campaign event in Kerala that the state had become a breeding ground for anti-national activities due to the mismanagement and vote-centric politics of the ruling parties over the years. He emphasized that Kerala, with its high literacy rate and talented populace, should have been leading the country in technological and economic advancements but was regressing instead.
Fadnavis accused both the LDF and UDF of fostering corruption and oppression, leading to Kerala’s backward trajectory. He criticized local governments for allegedly protecting anti-national elements for the sake of vote banks. He stressed the importance of Kerala integrating into the mainstream.
Regarding the recent bomb blast in Kannur, Fadnavis acknowledged the long-standing issue of criminalization in politics but expressed confidence in the Election Commission’s efforts to uncover such activities.
Responding to questions about the controversial film The Kerala Story aired on Doordarshan, Fadnavis clarified that once a movie receives clearance from the censor board, it can be broadcasted on any platform.
Fadnavis also highlighted various achievements of the Modi government, including poverty alleviation, housing initiatives, and infrastructure development. He expressed optimism about BJP’s performance in Kerala and urged support for BJP candidates, emphasizing that every vote for them strengthens Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
