It came to light on Monday that the thieves showed skill in the   Municipal Corporation office and stole four laptops containing important documents. The theft of a laptop from the South Zone Revenue office of the Corporation in Basaveshwar Circle has raised many suspicions. The thieves entered the office by breaking the window glass and door, escaped with the laptop.Â
Thieves have stolen four laptops containing property ownership documents, property owner’s identity card, tax slip, building permit, etc. records of residents of 26 wards.
When the staff came to the office on Monday morning, it came to light that thieves entered the office late last night and stole four laptops that were kept in the safe. Tilakwadi Police Station and Dog Squad personnel have visited the place and checked.
Corporation Commissioner PN Lokesh informed the media that in the morning, information was received about the theft of a laptop from the revenue office of the corporation’s southern zone. A complaint has already been filed in Tilakawadi Police station. He clarified that the police will investigate and will inquire about the theft from our sources as well. The non-installation of CCTV camera in Corporation office, which contains important documents, has led to many doubts. At present, the Police have set a net to arrest the thieves.
