Take Precautionary Measures To Avoid Drinking Water Problem: DC Dr KV Rajendra

As summer begins, officials should take precautionary measures to ensure that there is no problem with drinking water, Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra said.

He was presiding over a meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority on managing the drought situation in the drought declared taluks of the district held at Keswan video conference hall of his office.  Information should be kept about the availability of drinking water. Identify problem areas and villages where drinking water is a problem. He instructed the officials that one private bore wells should be hired compulsorily for each village and they should coordinate with them.

The Election Code of Conduct will come into force, so tenders should be called and arrangements should be made for those who need to supply water through tankers. A help line should be opened and staff should be appointed in every urban local body to report drinking water problem. He said that the officials of the Health department should check the water supplied for drinking water for its purity and quality.

Where necessary for drilling new bore wells should be identified. He said that officials should visit the fields to manage the drought effectively. It should be verified that the drought relief money has reached all the eligible beneficiaries.

Additional Deputy Commissioner P Shivraj, City Corporation Commissioner  Ashad ur Rehman Sharif and other officials from various departments were present in the meeting.
