Unni Mukundan begins filming for his next ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’

Unni Mukundan kickstarted Shefeek’s journey, the character which he is playing in his next, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The star’s upcoming film ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’ went on floors on Saturday (April 16), with a muhurat puja ceremony. The film is helmed by debutant Anup Pandalam, and is touted to be a comedy entertainer.
Unni Mukundan, who is both the lead character and producer of the film, shared glimpses of the puja ceremony and captioned, “On the Auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanti, UMF starts rollings it’s second production venture, “Shefeekkinte Santhosham”. Helmed by Anup Pandalam, ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’ will feature Unni Mukundan in the titular role of Shefeek, who is a Dubai returnee and finds happiness in helping others. The debutant director earlier shared that the upcoming film will explore the hilarious side of Unni Mukundan, who often appears in films in a serious and tough avatar because of his physique. “It is true that Unni is considered more as a mass film hero. But while this will be quite a departure from his usual roles, Unni, in fact, has a great sense of humour and really enjoys comedy, so is a perfect fit for the role. As it has a rural setting, there are several interesting village characters in it as well. As the presenter of a comic show, I have a finger on the pulse of the audience and understand that a good section of them enjoy comedy,” the director earlier said to Kochi Times.
‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’ will also feature actors Manoj K Jayan, Divya Pillai, Bala, Athmiya Rajan, Shaheen Sidhique, Mithun Ramesh, Sminu Sijo, and, Jordy Poonjar in some pivotal roles.
