Upendra, renowned for his directorial ventures, is set to make a comeback with “UI,” a film that will be released in eight languages, as revealed on Monday. The announcement took place during the film’s first look unveiling, conducted by popular Telugu producer Allu Aravind and Sandalwood superstar Shiva Rajkumar. Allu Aravind, who attended the event in Bengaluru, commended the grandeur displayed in the first look, expressing his astonishment, “The two minutes of the first look are beyond expectations. When I inquired about the substantial expenditure from producer Manohar, he explained that Upendra’s dedication to the film surpasses the monetary investment. Today, that is evident. I assure him that the promotion efforts in Kannada will be mirrored in Telugu.”
Shiva Rajkumar, whose collaboration with Upendra resulted in the cult classic “Om,” emphasized Upendra’s uniqueness as a director, recalling his earlier films “Shh” and “Tarle Nan Maga.” Praising “Shh” as an exceptional film, he shared insights into Upendra’s dedicated work ethic. “Having worked with him, I know how dedicated he is. Unwilling to spend even a second more, he would mix everything on the plate and eat all at once during lunch while shooting. I always mention him when we talk about great contemporary directors.”
Upendra, remaining tight-lipped about the film’s details, stated, “I always believed that the maker should not talk about the movie. It is the audience who have to talk. I had this dialogue in one of my movies; there are three phases in a person’s life. One where he thinks he is right and the world is wrong. Second in which he thinks the world is right and he is wrong. I made a few films in each of these phases. This film represents the third phase in a person’s life when he realizes that both the world and himself were right. This is my first film in this third phase.” The actor-director assured fans that more exciting content, including teasers, songs, and the film itself, will be revealed soon. The film is anticipated to hit screens later this year.
