FIR registered against those for providing shelter to Rohingya’s

Jammu Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shakti Pathak stated on Tuesday that police are conducting searches in various locations in the city against individuals providing documents and plots to outsiders, specifically referring to Rohingyas, who are non-citizens of the country. The DIG emphasized that the investigation is currently underway.

Addressing reporters in Jammu, DIG Pathak mentioned that people in different areas of Jammu city have given their plots to those coming from outside, and the police are scrutinizing those involved in providing facilities and helping them access Indian government benefits. The searches involve seven police stations and are being carried out at approximately 29-30 locations in Jammu.

The police action included searches at a Rohingya colony in the Bathindi area of Jammu. The press release issued by the police stated that several First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against those accused of providing shelter to Rohingyas and facilitating their access to government benefits. The FIRs have been lodged in different police stations, including Satwari, Trikuta Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu, Channi Himmat, Nowabad, Domana, and Nagrota. The press release noted that during the searches, illegally acquired Indian documents such as PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, and bank documents were seized. The investigation is ongoing, and the police emphasized that stringent action would be taken against defaulters in the future.
