Bengaluru

In a bid to streamline traffic flow near Benniganahalli Metro Station’s Tin Factory Junction, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have implemented a strategic change, significantly alleviating vehicular congestion and ensuring safer travel for motorists and pedestrians in the city. Previously, buses passing over the KR Pura suspension bridge were causing disruption as they halted at the bridge’s onset, leading to traffic snarls. The traffic police intervened by placing barricades, relocating the bus stand back by 100 meters, below the skywalk. This move effectively prevented parking of buses and vehicles, significantly reducing congestion in the area. The alteration has notably improved the commuting experience for thousands of pedestrians, bus, and metro commuters. Passengers heading towards Hoskote, Madanapally, and other destinations now have direct access to buses below the skywalk. Additionally, buses destined for Mahadevpur, Whitefield, and Silk Board Junction will depart from Metro Station Exit ‘A’, facilitating smoother boarding for passengers exiting the metro. While initially, some passengers were disoriented and attempted to access the former bus stand, traffic police stationed in the area promptly guided them, emphasizing the safety and convenience of the new arrangement. Joint Commissioner of Police, M. N. Anuchet, highlighted the upcoming implementation of a segregation plan for buses, directing buses heading towards Mahadevpur and Whitefield to the left of the metro pillar and allowing government and private buses over the suspension bridge to proceed directly. This strategic segregation aims to further reduce traffic congestion effectively. A tactical restructuring by the Bengaluru Traffic Police near Tin Factory Junction, adjoining Benniganahalli Metro Station, has brought considerable relief to traffic congestion and enhanced commuter safety in the city. Addressing the bottleneck caused by buses halting at the beginning of the KR Pura suspension bridge, the traffic police employed barricades and relocated the bus stand 100 meters below the skywalk. This crucial alteration, prohibiting bus and vehicle parking in the area, has notably mitigated traffic snarls near the junction.
