Fire Breaks Out At Sponge Factory In City’s Gangammanagudi Area

Another fire incident has occurred in Bangalore, this time in the Silicon City. A fire broke out in the compound of a sponge factory near Gangammanagudi due to the accidental ignition of waste sponges. The fire quickly spread, covering an area of about 200 meters with thick smoke. Firefighters responded promptly to the scene and are working to extinguish the blaze. The fire began when stored waste sponges in the factory’s premises caught fire, causing the flames to intensify. Initially, factory staff attempted to control the fire, but when it got out of hand, the fire brigade was called in. Three fire tenders quickly arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations, ultimately bringing the fire under control through continuous water spraying. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the factory staff or other individuals in the vicinity, as the fire was limited to the sponge storage area. The incident is under investigation by the Gangammanagudi police, and access to the factory premises has been restricted. There are allegations that the fire was intentionally set by factory staff, and the police are gathering information on the incident.
