BelagaviAthani MLA Lakshman Savadi has lashed out at former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi for predicting that DK Shivakumar would soon become a former Minister.Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said, some people make such statements when they don’t have work to do. If you have a lot of work, you won’t remember anything. Such thoughts come to mind when there is no work. I will not react to such a statement, he said.On the issue of renaming Vijayapura as Basaveshwara District, he said, it would be better if Vijayapura district is renamed. Let a new chapter be written during the time of Minister MB Patil.I don’t support the demand for a separate North Karnataka. The development of North Karnataka should not be hampered. It is the duty of the Chief Minister and all ministers to treat the entire state equally, which is my wish. Savadi said the separation of North Karnataka is irrelevant today.Taking exception to the Maharashtra CM’s statement supporting the celebration of Black Day on Rajyotsava Day, Savadi said, let any representative come, participate in Karnataka Rajyotsava. He hit back at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, saying that if he wants to celebrate Kannada festival and enjoy it, let him come.
