Special decorations have been made for almost all the deities across the city on the occasion of Dasara. It is common in temples to decorate temples with flowers, kumkum, leaves, uththatti, vegetables, fruits and vegetables. However, Kannika Parameshwaridevi of the city has been decorated with currency notes and is attracting attention of devotees.
Goddess Kanika Parameshwari of Doddapet was decorated with various types for nine days of Navaratri. On the tenth day on Tuesday, the goddess was specially decorated with currency notes worth Rs 3,20,000 lakh by the members of the temple committee. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple has been made attractive with currency notes. This includes Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 currency notes.
Devotees are flocking to the temple. There is an opportunity to see the special decoration on Tuesday and Wednesday. Two huge garlands of money have been placed in front of the sanctum sanctorum.
Santosh Desai, a priest, said, we have decorated the goddess with Dhanalakshmi. This kind of decoration has been done for the last 20 years. This time, we have used Rs 3,20,000 currency notes of different denominations. We have used the new currency brought from the bank and given by the devotees for this decoration, he said.
Hema Srinivas, a devotee, said, we celebrated Dasara by making 9 decorations on 9 days of Navratri. Amma is decorated with Dhanalakshmi. Devi looks very beautiful. It’s exciting, he said.
