Load Shedding Effect, Farmers Irrigate Fields At Night With Oil In Their Eyes

Earlier, farmers’ pumpsets were provided with electricity for 7 hours every day. But now, the state government has reduced it to 4 hours on the pretext of load shedding, forcing the annadatas to wait for electricity overnight.

At present, there are 66,100 IP sets in the district. Around 22,12 farmers growing various crops have to sleep from midnight till morning every day. If you don’t go to the field at <> o’clock in the night and irrigate it, the crop will dry up. Thus, farmers are forced to wait for electricity at night, leaving oil in their eyes. On the other hand, the farmers are demanding that the current which is given at <> pm should be given during the day.

At present, there is a power shortage in the state. In this context, the government has used Section 11 of the Electricity Act as a weapon to prevent the sale of electricity generated by private parties to other states.
