Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his ex-wife Dhanashree Verma’s allegations of infidelity, calling them baseless and exhausting. The rumors surfaced after Dhanashree, currently a contestant on the show Rise and Fall, claimed in an interview that Chahal cheated on her just two months into their marriage. Chahal has now responded, firmly denying the claims and stating that he has moved on from that chapter of his life.
Chahal said, I am a sportsperson and I do not cheat. If someone cheats in two months, would a relationship last over four years? This chapter is over and done. I have moved forward, and everyone else should too. Reflecting on his four-and-a-half-year marriage, he emphasized that the allegations simply do not hold any truth. Our marriage lasted 4.5 years. If cheating had happened in two months, who would have continued? I have left the past behind, but some people are still stuck there… unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai, so they can continue. I am not affected.
Chahal also clarified that this would be the last time he speaks about the matter. I don’t want to address it ever again. Social media spreads 100 stories, but the truth is one, and those who matter know it, he added. Now focused on his career and personal growth, the 35-year-old stated, I am concentrating on my life and my game.
Chahal and Dhanashree had married in December 2020 after meeting during the COVID-19 lockdown through her online dance classes. They filed for divorce in February 2024, which was finalised earlier this year with an alimony settlement of ₹4.75 crore. Chahal is currently rumoured to be dating RJ Mahvash.
