Chris Hemsworth Makes Major Lifestyle Changes After Learning He’s High Risk For Alzheimer’s

Must read

Actor Chris Hemsworth has taken significant steps to prioritize his health after learning about his high risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease. In an interview, the 40-year-old Thor star shared some of the lifestyle changes he has made.

Hemsworth emphasized the importance of incorporating more solitude into his life, recognizing the value of taking time for oneself without external distractions. He also emphasized the significance of stillness in his routine.

While he has always been consistent with his exercise commitments, Hemsworth has now embraced mindfulness practices. He engages in meditation and breath work, often during sauna and ice bath sessions. He finds that mindfulness work is particularly meaningful when it involves physical activities that allow him to be fully present and engage his body, such as surfing.

Hemsworth’s motivation for these lifestyle changes came after a conversation with longevity physician Dr. Peter Attia, during which he learned that he is eight to 10 times more likely than the average person to develop Alzheimer’s disease due to having two copies of the APOE4 gene. APOE4 is strongly correlated with the development of Alzheimer’s disease, although much remains unknown about it.

Attia expressed his belief that by taking proactive steps, they could potentially reduce Hemsworth’s risk to that of an average individual. Since that revelation, Hemsworth has made his health a top priority, incorporating mindfulness and other practices into his daily routine to promote well-being and reduce his risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
