In general, we think that sculptors and science have no relation, but there are no greater scientists than sculptors, said Dasara Special Officer and Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra said.

While presiding over the opening ceremony of the state-level sculpture camp organized by the Fine Arts and Handicrafts Sub-Committee and the Karnataka Shilpakala Academy in Bengaluru as part of the Dasara festival 2023 at Suchitra Gallery in the Kalamandir premises, he said that every beautiful sculpture reflects the skill, hard work and concentration of the artist. The craftsmanship of the sculptors in this regard is commendable, he said.

An integral part of the Dasara celebrations, the inaugural program of the Shilpa Kala camp, though simple, is very significant. The eyes do not perceive ideas that the brain does not understand. Sculptors are engrossed in carving sculptures in a way that gives direction to all parts of the body. He wished the sculptors of different districts who had come to the program very carefully so as not to damage the sculptures in any way.

The sculptures prepared in this ten-day camp will be exhibited on Dasara. In the coming days, these sculptures will be displayed in various offices and allow the talent to be unveiled. He said that it will be a function to recognize the respect given to sculpture arts, which is different from its own royal flavor.

Bangalore Art Historian and Researcher Dr. Choodamani Nandagopal, VN Mallikarjun, Joint Director of Kannada and Culture Department, R Chandrasekhar, Registrar of Karnataka Shilpakala Academy, A Devaraju, Deputy Special Officer of Fine Arts and Handicrafts Sub-Committee, Nazia Sultana, Working President and Rashmibi, Secretaries were present.
