A shocking incident unfolded at DM Residency Lodge on MES Ring Road when a 42-year-old female hotelier, Pankaja, was abducted by a group of five individuals, including three women. The incident occurred after Pankaja declined to provide them with a room at her establishment. Pankaja and her husband, Vijay, have been managing the DM Residency Lodge for the past four years, where they also reside. Notably, Vijay was not present at the time of the harrowing incident. On a fateful Sunday afternoon, a group of five individuals, consisting of three women, arrived at the lodge to book a room. Pankaja, however, refused to accommodate local residents, leading to a heated verbal altercation. Matters escalated as Pankaja was physically assaulted by three women identified as Fyarama, Asma, and Najma. In a shocking turn of events, these three women forcibly abducted Pankaja and attempted to flee in an auto. Fortunately, vigilant Jalahalli traffic police officers, sensing something amiss, stopped the auto and initiated a routine check. It was at this critical moment that Pankaja managed to alert the police about her abduction. Prompt action by the police resulted in her swift rescue from the abductors’ clutches. During the subsequent investigation, the accused provided a different version of events, claiming that Pankaja was taken to the police station after being denied a room. The Jalahalli police have since registered a case against the five accused, charging them with both kidnapping and assault. Two additional suspects, identified as Sadiq Pasha and Jayaram, have also been named in connection with the incident. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of police vigilance in ensuring the safety and security of individuals, even in seemingly routine situations.
