The bustling Yeshwantpur railway station, a hub for tech-savvy commuters, is set to enhance passenger convenience with the construction of a state-of-the-art multi-level parking complex. The station witnesses thousands of daily travelers embarking on journeys to various cities, yet a lack of proper parking facilities had been causing inconveniences for both passengers and auto-taxi drivers. Recognizing the need to address this issue, the South Western Railway Department has embarked on a project to transform Yeshwantpur railway station into a high-tech transit hub. Over the past two months, significant progress has been made in this endeavor. As passenger numbers continue to surge, a five-story parking complex is being constructed to accommodate the growing demand, with a capacity to park up to 300 vehicles simultaneously. This project marks the South Western Railway’s first foray into the construction of a multi-level parking complex. In the initial phase, the complex is being built on the eastern side of platform one, covering an area of 600 square feet. It will comprise five floors, including the ground level, with work already underway at a cost of 380 crores. Completion is anticipated within a few months. The parking complex will feature a dedicated entrance and exit gate for vehicles, along with elevators on both sides for added convenience. The facility will provide space for the parking of 200 bikes, 100 cars, and 40 autos. Furthermore, provisions have been made for Ola-Uber parking, with 100 cars allocated a separate area. As Yeshwantpur railway station continues to evolve and accommodate the needs of a growing populace, this modern parking complex promises to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers and provide a well-organized solution to parking challenges.
