Speaking during the event, honourable minister mentioned that, Karnataka has great ambitions ahead – 10,000MW of RE power is to be developed by 2027, EV ecosystem of the state will see a dramatic rise to facilitate the EV penetration, GW scale of RE Hybrid Parks are under developmental stage, 4 MTPS ammonia/hydrogen facilities under pipeline, hydrogen valleys/hubs to emerge, agriculture feeder solarisation agriculture pump solarisation, utility scale battery systems to support VRE (variable renewable energy) integration, 3GW+ of pumped storage system under development etc. This is in addition to the various manufacturing sector developments the current government has committed to. With proactive collaboration among innovators, entrepreneurs, financiers and government, we have to continue devising means and methods to drastically reduce CO2 emissions, fight climate change, and put ourselves on the track of sustainable growth, We would like Karnataka to be a pioneer across clean energy transition, decarbonisation and circular economy themes. The state has two policies in place. While the new holistic Karnataka Renewable Energy Policy 2022-2027 focus is to achieve 10GW of additional RE capacity by 2027 the Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Policy 2022-2027 aims to conserve 744 MU of electricity consumption across focus sectors by avoiding CO2 emissions of 610,080 tonnes and 454MW of fossil fuel based generation capacity.
