KU To Organise G20 University Connect

Karnatak University, in association with Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, and the Ministry of External Affairs, is organising different events under G20 University Connect programme on Tuesday as part of the G20 summit.
The programme will host two special lectures and panel discussions at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium, Karnatak University campus. University  Vice-chancellor KB Gudasi said   that the G20 University Connect programme is part of the nationwide activities to ignite young minds and engage them in shaping and strengthening global order and governance in the context of addressing international economic issues. Under this mega-event, some pre-event student activities such as essay and speech competitions have been organised.
Professor BH Nagoor, Professor of Economics and Co-ordinator of the Centre for International Affairs said two special lectures followed by a panel discussion will be held on Tuesday from 10.30 am onwards.
 
GA Tadas, visiting fellow at RIS will speak on ‘G20 India Presidency, Opportunities and Way Forward while Prof. Govinda Rao, member of the 14th Finance Commission and former Director of National Institute of Public Finance and Policy( NIPFP), New Delhi, will cover issues concerning ‘India’s Presidency of G-20 countries. KB Gudasi will chair the special lecture sessions. After the special lectures, a panel discussion on various aspects of India’s presidency of G-20 countries will be held. Professor SS Patagundi will speak on international relation issues while JR Tonnannavar will deliberate on issues relating to science and technology. Professor Vinod Annigeri will cover key economic issues of G20.
