MLA ST Somashekar Vows To Ensure Government Schemes Reach Deserving Constituents

Ex-minister and sitting MLA S.T. Somashekar has pledged dedicated efforts to ensure the effective delivery of state government schemes to deserving families within the Kengeri constituency. Speaking during a meeting convened with BESCOM officials, which focused on addressing registration issues and resolving electricity-related concerns, Somashekar emphasized the importance of collaboration between leaders, activists, and BESCOM officials to extend the benefits of government initiatives to every household in the constituency. The meeting, held at the MLA’s office in Bharat Nagar, Herohalli Ward, within the Yesvantpur Assembly Constituency, aimed to streamline the implementation of government schemes and ensure that the public receives the full advantages they are entitled to. Kumar Naik, an executive developer from BESCOM, provided valuable insights during the meeting. He revealed that over two lakh individuals are already benefiting from the Griha Jyoti scheme, which provides a zero bill to eligible beneficiaries. The scheme’s reach extends to various areas, with 46,000 beneficiaries in Doddabidarakallu, 31,320 in Herohalli, 12,315 in Kengeri, and 16,309 in Hemmigepura. Additionally, it was announced that Transport Minister Ramalingareddy is scheduled to visit the BMTC bus station in the Kengeri suburb on Tuesday to assess public transportation needs and address any shortages. The meeting witnessed the participation of various key figures, including former BBMP members Aryasrinivas and Rajanna, Panchayat President V. Venugopal, Ramakrishna (mud son), leaders Sivamadiah, Prasad Kumar, Chetan, Chikkaraju, B. Anil Kumar, BESCOM AEE, AE Officers, current Panchayat President, Vice President, Members, and former Zilla Panchayat Members. Their collective presence underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring the welfare of the Kengeri constituency’s residents.
