The Dalai Lama, in a letter to the Moroccan Prime Minister, expressed his condolences and sorrow over the devastating earthquake that recently struck Morocco, resulting in over 2,100 deaths and thousands of injuries. He offered his condolences to the Prime Minister and the families of the victims, expressing his prayers for all those affected by the tragedy.
The Dalai Lama also acknowledged the efforts of the Moroccan government in providing support for rescue and relief operations in the affected areas. He expressed appreciation for the international community’s aid efforts following the earthquake.
As a gesture of solidarity with the people of Morocco impacted by the earthquake, the Dalai Lama informed the Prime Minister that he had requested the Gaden Phodrang Foundation of the Dalai Lama to make a donation to support the rescue and relief efforts. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.8, struck central Morocco on the night of September 8, leading to significant loss of life and injuries.
